The Van Rijn Group has access to its own cold stores in cooperation with Varekamp Coldstores, established in 1953, and since 1993 a member of the Van Rijn Group. Varekamp Coldstores is located at a strategic location between the Dutch airport Schiphol and the harbours of Rotterdam, right across the street from the Van Rijn Group head office.
Varekamp has about 7.000 pallet positions and uses it’s own 3D location system. This offers efficiency at the highest level, where the warehouse management system can manage your inventory and the bonded- warehouse activities with barcodes. The barcode information is processed and updated in real time, ensuring your order is processed quickly and efficiently with fully traceable 24/7.
Varekamp Coldstores utilises the most modern techniques and facilities to guarantee the freshness of each product. In each of our 26 cold stores the temperature (-3 to + 20 °C), circulation, ventilation and humidity can be set individually. A section of our stores is equipped with floor heating to meet specific product requirements during refrigerated storage.
Varekamp Coldstores is a bonded warehouse taking care of your customs formalities, including filing your customs declaration in the required format, transport and sorting and packing of fresh produce.
Varekamp Coldstores has the AEO-, BRC Storage & Distribution and the IFS Logistics certificate including HACCP, which are required by chain stores. Full traceability - a legal requirement that Varekamp Coldstores fully meets - is needed, among others for chain stores. Varekamp Coldstores is also Skal certified for the storage and repackaging of organic products, including the necessary paperwork.
